Here are 3 areas of your home that will have you falling in love with the holidays. 1. Shelves. Wither its the entertainment center, kitchen shelf, entry way, or coffee table there is always a good rule that will guide you through decorating. Odd numbers and varying heights. Items on a shelf should total 1, 3, or 5. It gives a perfect combination of items with a focal point and supporting pieces. Varying heights can be described as short, medium, tall or earth, sky, heaven. The combination of these two rules give an intentional non-cluttered look. 2. Dining Room/Kitchen Table. Simple touches added to your existing table setting can give a sophisticated look for less. You can also buy a couple to use as a base for a centerpiece or display on a shelf. The dollar store also has ceramic or metal tiny pumpkins that make for great centerpiece on your place setting or addition to your shelves. Pull out the items you currently have, table runner, plates, and other decor. Decide your color scheme, and select items that will compliment the items you have on hand. Now your table is ready for hosting! 3. Mantle or Gallery Wall The best addition to any home is family pictures. For the month of October, you can find a pumpkin patch at many churches around town.
